Sony and Honda have created a joint venture, Sony Honda Mobility, to built a new Electric Vehicle called Afeela. The new project was announced at Consumer Electronics Show 2023 in Las Vegas.

If in the past the focus was on power and performance, now the focus is on software, networks, and user experiences. Entertainment at maximum and Sony and other non-automotive players are ready to step-in. Japan lost the smartphone and smart TVs waves and now wants to make sure it doesn’t lose the EV trend too. Pre-orders in 2025 and deliveries in North America by 2026.
