Two thirds of the MIT Sloan Management Review Strategy Forum panelists think that Tesla’s dominance will come to an end.
I agree with this conclusion, but the company will remain dominant. It’s an iPhone on wheels and last time I checked iPhones were still cool.
Ivan Png from the National University of Singapore shows that brands like BYD, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz have far outsold Tesla in Singapore in the first half of the year.
However, the base for competition will remain the same, as mentioned in other posts: scale, design and distribution (and only a few can really do it).
It’s hard to compete on software w/ Apple, Google, Tesla so probably most of the manufacturers will make partnerships for it.
