Renault wants to ditch their ICEs cars (ie. internal combustion engine) in order to focus on EVs. They are in discussions to sell their Dacia plant from Mioveni to Geely (Chinese company, owner of Volvo), but keeping the “Dacia” brand.

In Romania Dacia employs around 14k employees, but with suppliers that amount reaches 100k.

I’ve said in other posts, but is always good to mention it again:
1/ EV cars have 10x less components than ICEs
2/ The focus on EVs moves towards scale, design & distribution. Easier said than done because most of these require a total new skill set.

in H1 2022 Dacia sold 5,9% more cars compared to 2021, being a “cash cow” for Renault.
