How it should be after you buy a company:
1/ Send an email (or discuss) to all employees on future plans & commitment vs. severance packages
2/ Assess the situation after some of the people leave
3/ Adjust the workforce according to your needs (including contractors)
4/ Start rebuilding the company/the product according to a predefined strategy roadmap

How Elon did it:
1/ Massive layoffs with n #future none to limited assessment
2/ Ask some of them to come back and help not sink the ship
3/ Send an email (or discuss) to all employees on future plans & commitment vs. severance packages
4/ Ask the followers what should the company focus on

What can I say? He’s an engineer at heart.
