Top Gun 2 Maverick, a Paramount production, will now stream on Netflix. Here is a windowing strategy detailed and updated:

  • 2010 Strategy: Release the movie first in cinemas (theaters). After a year, make it available on DVD.
  • 2020 Strategy: Debut the film in cinemas, followed by its release on the studio’s streaming service after a year.
  • 2024 Updated approach: Initially, the movie is released in cinemas. A year later, it was added to the studio’s streaming platform. Then, after another year, it becomes available on competing streaming services, like Netflix.

Great strategy!
